Merry Christmas :)

Today is Christmas (and it was a white christmas!!) and we had a most wonderful time spending it with family :) Just a few more weeks now until little girl schnable is here, and I am so ready to meet her!
I love it when I poke my stomach, and she will poke me back...it's only a matter of time until she's in my arms!
I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season, I am thankful for so much this year, and am so excited about everything coming up in 2011!

30 weeks!

I can't believe it's already 30 weeks! Time is flying by, and I'm sure the holidays will help to speed it up even more.
Nothing too exciting to post, work has been very busy, weekends are filled with events, and we are busy getting the nursery ready for the little one.
The nursery is coming along, we have a crib, bookshelf, and various bouncy seats, stuffed animals, etc... We ordered a wall decal for above the crib, and it looks great, but it was not nearly as simple as the instructions made it seem!
My mother threw Ben and I a wonderful shower a few weeks ago and it was so much fun! The little lady is stocking up on presents! She got an awesome pack n play (thanks Bruce and Jim!), some adorable outfits, and so much more :) I hope she feels the love!
The last doctor appointment had me progressing well, heartbeat is strong at 146bpm, little lady is most likely head down, and I passed my glucose test with flying colors! Go me!
Alright, It's picture time, here's what's been going on :)

Happy Halloween!

Today is halloween, Ben's favorite Holiday!
Here are our costumes this year :) I am a treasure troll and Ben is Dead Pool.

Little baby Schnable has many years of complex Halloween costumes to come!

The past few weeks have been super busy...and the calendar for November has no free weekends! Time is flying by. I had a doctor's appointment this past week and everything went well. I've put on 11 pounds, baby's heartbeat is strong, I'm feeling great still. Third trimester starts this week, bring it on!

It's all coming together...

We've gotten a lot accomplished over the past few weeks.
Things we can check off our list:
      Paint the nursery
      Start looking into daycare/take tours
      put together the crib
      hang up baby clothes
      put together bookshelf
....so it's a start! It's really hard to believe that in just 3 months this little lady will be here!
Check out all our hard work:

Next up on our to-do list:
   order/hang up wall decorations
   pick out crib bedding
   pick a pediatrician
   and much more!

Baby! Baby! Baby!

This weekend our plan is to paint the room that will be the nursery! We have ordered a crib and a bookshelf, so it will be great to have everything painted and ready to go when the stuff arrives.
We've signed up for registries at Babies R Us and Target, so everything is getting ready for baby.... slowly but surely!
I am still feeling good, having a little back pain, but I've been swimming a lot so that has helped. My chiropractor friend, Sam, has given me some stretches to do to keep everything relaxed and so far it's working!
Check out our registries, and experienced mamas, if there's something I left off, let me know!

Happy Fall!

It is cold, rainy, and gray outside! The leaves have started to drop and the daylight fades around 6:45 now. It's officially fall! Where has time gone?

We had another prenatal check up today and everything is going great! They emailed me the ultrasound photos from our visit, so you get a bonus picture today! Little girl Schnable is looking very healthy, everything is where it should be, and she's weighing around 1lb 2oz! She is kicking up a storm inside of me, and Ben and I actually saw my stomach moving as she punched me this past weekend. I have to keep moving around in order for her to stop the madness inside of me :)

Here's a glimpse of her cute profile!

Babypalooza!

This week is the Lollipop Shop in Charlottesville, a consignment sale held twice a year in an empty store. Christy, who runs the sale, is one of my instructors at ACAC, so she kindly invited me to her special preview night....and it was amazing! My mother and mother-in-law joined me at what I like to refer to as babypalooza! I've never seen so much children's stuff packed into a store! We made out with some great deals and had a wonderful evening of shopping...Thank you Christy!
I've begun to start to register for items, but thanks to my awesome coworkers, I'm finding that I have actually acquired a lot of the big stuff! Check out one of the rooms in our house that has become baby mania...
Thank you to everyone who has given me lists of essentials, advice, and more! I'm slowly learning what babies need!

Now that I'm 22 weeks, it feels like time is going to fly by, she will be here before we know it! She's been kicking and punching a lot more lately, and last night Ben felt her kicks for the first time, such an amazing moment :)

It's a GIRL!

It's official!
We found out the sex yesterday, and Little Baby Schnable is officially a little lady!
The ultrasound was amazing as usual, I think I sometimes forget that it's an actual human growing inside of me, we saw fingers, her mouth opening and closing, she even did a complete 180 and flipped around during the process! So cool. I can't wait to meet her and spoil her :)
Unfortunately, my scanner is down, so here are a few pictures of pictures that I took with my phone.
Here she is flexing her bicep!

Little baby feet!

Next, coming up with a name! Any suggestions?

Fall is moving in...

I can't believe how fast summer has flown by....it feels like only yesterday was the start of June. I also can't believe that I am halfway through my pregnancy, eek! Probably should start getting ready!
These past two weeks have been busy busy, weddings, races, hiking, and most importantly, a Lady GaGa concert!
I had a doctor's appointment this past week, short and sweet, but this time I recorded the little Schnable's heartbeat...at this point it's right around 140bpm. Make sure you stay tuned, we find out the sex (hopefully) next tuesday!  The countdown begins :)

Tomorrow we are headed up to Gainesville to visit my best friend Lindsey and her husband Chad, who had their first child in April. Their son, Grayson is getting baptized and we're headed to the ceremony and to a reception at their new house. We are so excited to see how this little man has grown! Can't wait to see you tomorrow Lindsey!!
I'll leave you with my latest bump picture, the scale shot up this week, and my belly shot out! :)

4th Place!

Today was the Charlottesville Xterra Triathlon, and my 2 office mates and I formed a relay team for the race. Jackie swam .75 miles, Laura mountain biked 11.5 miles, I trail ran 4 miles, and it was AWESOME! They haven't posted the individual results yet, but overall our team finished 4th among the relays, and in 2hrs and 40 minutes! Here's us at the finish line!

Just a quick update :)

Just thought I'd write about about the past couple weeks!
I've been feeling the first movements in my stomach. I notice it after I've had an especially active day, when I'm laying real still in the evening into the night. It feels like a goldfish fluttering around in my abdomen. It's the coolest feeling ever, I think Ben is a little jealous that he can't feel anything yet!
My bump is also growing....I attempted to fit into some of my jeans and shorts this past week and couldn't get the button quite buttoned. Thank goodness that I pretty much live in stretchy workout pants! The scale hasn't moved much, but I'm expanding day by day! In case you don't believe me, check it out!
There's a bump there for sure!

That's all I've got for now...Our next ultrasound will be September 14th where we will find out the gender. SO exciting!

on a side note - This weekend I'm going to the running leg of the Charlottesville Xterra Tri-athlon with two of my co-workers.....wish me luck!

Update!

Hi all!
Today I had a check up at the doctor, and it was the quickest doctor's appointment I have ever been to! I was literally in and out in 5 minutes! Everything is going well however, and he informed me that I should be starting to feel little flutters of movement in the next week or so, how amazing! I also heard the heartbeat again, a strong 150bpm, and since I haven't gained any weight since the last time I saw the doc, I took myself immediately to Bodos for a egg and cheese bagel.Yummm.

After work I headed to Target to go a little baby crazy and buy some little items for the baby such as mittens, hats, and some super soft blankets that I may steal for myself! It's really hard to shop without knowing the gender! All the 'neutral' items are orange, green, or yellow, which probably get real old, real fast.  We will be finding out the sex at our 22 week ultrasound, at the end of September. After that, let the shopping begin!!
I'm pretty sure this needs to be in our onesie collection :)

Vacation Adventures!

We're back!
Vacation was amazing, once we parked the car in the driveway we didn't use it once. We walked and biked everywhere, and took the ferry over to Martha's Vineyard as well. It was so nice to relax and get away from work. I rode a bike for the first time since 5th or 6th grade, and by the end of the week, I actually felt confident on the bike! The beaches in New England are much more rocky than down South and the water was REALLY cold, but it felt good after all our biking and walking. I loved running up there in the mornings, it was flat, and it felt like I could go for miles.
Here are some pictures from our adventures, Enjoy!

1st stop, New Haven, CT to visit our friends Kevin and Colleen!

We even bought some stuff for little baby Schnable, He/She now has a onesie, some booties, and what must be the coolest stroller on the block. Sorry Ben, we're going to have a preppy baby whether you like it or not :)
